Natural disasters have significant impact on the environment and ecosystem. From debris management, to dam safety to release of hazardous substances, emergency managers should holistically address the links between environment and emergencies and as such consider environmental issues as an integral part of all elements of humanitarian response, including across the humanitarian programme cycle.
