Community Engagement
Engagement with communities in the immediate aftermath of a disaster is essential to ensure that affected people have the information they need to organize their own responses, take life-saving actions at household level and access humanitarian assistance, as well as to provide important feedback on challenges and gaps. Emergency responders can play a critical role in setting up an ‘accountable response’ and, in particular, ensuring information needs are met immediately.
